Automatic drivers cover millions of miles every day. Our developer tools can help you power your apps with that data.

Automatic works in just about any car since 1996, regardless of make or model. We take care of the vehicle-specific quirks and low-level stuff so you can focus on making a great product.

The Automatic REST API provides detailed information about each trip in a driver’s timeline, including distance, start/end times, route, MPG, and more—along with corresponding user and vehicle metadata.

The Automatic Events API sends your app real-time updates in response to driving events. Your app can respond to events like ignition on/off; hard brakes, accelerations, and speeding events; location changes; and even changes to the check engine light status.

The Automatic Streaming SDK lets 3rd party apps stream raw on-board diagnostics (OBD-II) data directly from the Automatic car adapter via Bluetooth. (User must have 2nd generation Automatic adapter.)

Our libraries and SDKs make it easy to get started building car apps on the Automatic Developer Platform. Whether building on iOS, Android, node.js, Ruby, or PHP, we’ve got you covered.
